Several Business Technology students from Stratford High School participated in the Junior Achievement Company Program to learn how to run and operate a business. The students launched Names’ R Us, a company that sold Class of 2011 lanyards and bracelets. To start their business, students had to sell shares of stock to raise money for start-up.
As a result of their experiences as President and Vice presidents within the company, the students learned to communicate well and hold positions such as public relations, human resource management, financing, production, and marketing. Students were able to make a profit after the close of their business.
A special thank you to Dwayne Tucker and Kwonsik Park, volunteers for Junior Achievement, who worked with the students on this project after school.
